Ephesians is a book that highlights one of the most important distinctions in all of the Bible and breaks neatly into 2 distinct portions. In the first portion, chapters 1-3 discuss the first key section. This division has been described as the "indicative/imperative" or the "belief/behavior" distinction. This means that for Christians--the first part of Ephesians tells us who we are in Christ and the second part tells how we must respond to our new life in Christ! Our text for coming weeks is often called the "household code" beginning at 5:22. But for this morning, we looked at the section from 5:15-6:9 as a way of introduction to the household code and is found within the imperative/behavior portion of the entire book.
We noted four points from the text that should guide our look at the household code: The gospel creates human humility; the gospel is to be believed and lived; the gospel is to be seen and displayed; and the gospel is to be enjoyed by us and others. We pray that you enjoy and benefit from this look at God's Word! We would love to have you join us for weekly worship on Sundays at 11:00am. We meet at:
