We have been looking at the life of King David. Our text for June 25, 2023 was 2 Samuel 8:1-6; 13-18. After demonstrating the LORD God's faithfulness to His people and to David in the previous chapter, this section highlights David honoring his covenant with Jonathan by demonstrating covenant faithfulness/loyalty to Jonathan's son Mephibosheth. The text also continues getting us ready for the faithful covenant keeper--King Jesus. The Scripture here is challenging us toward faith in Christ and demonstrating covenant loyalty.
