Momentum is momentum, and wherever it comes from is not what’s important. What’s important is that we ride that wave. Just by getting sober we created an immense amount of momentum for ourselves. Active addiction took us down to zero, but then when we finally do recover and get sober we need to allow that to propel us into an amazing future. A lot of people would give about anything to be in the position that we are in once we are in recovery, once we are truly living sober and looking ahead to what comes next.
We “begin with the end in mind.” We set goals, get a crystal clear picture of how we want our lives to look and then find ways to be of service to others. By serving others we plant a lot of seeds that will bear a lot of fruit, we have to believe that it will happen and, for God’s sake, we must stop self-sabotaging and allow it to happen!
Also, in this episode, I tell one of my “jail survival” stories…think kosher trays… and reflect on living in those conditions. I’m so thankful that I don’t have to live that way any more, I’m free from the system and free from active heroin addiction. We are too good for that and are able to live our lives “happy, healthy, wealthy and free!”
