Description

Joao Faria, Ph.D. joins us as a tenured associate professor. He comes to FAU from the University of Texas–El Paso, where he was a tenured professor. He has published more than 100 articles, primarily in macroeconomics, development economics, and most recently in the economics of terrorism.  Originally from Brazil, he is now a U.S. citizen, and he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Kent in England. Faria’s work has appeared in many excellent academic journals, including Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Macroeconomics, Economics Letters, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and Defense and Peace Economics. He has been a consultant to the World Bank and the European Central Bank, and has taught as a visiting professor in Australia, Brazil, Canada, England, France and Portugal.
