We have been Made Free from any religious law or standards that would keep us bound to guilt and shame. There is no rule we can keep, nothing we can do or not do, that could earn us God’s grace. Living according to rules and standards may keep us doing what is right, but it never changes the real source of the problem – the condition of the heart.
