As we've seen in Mark's gospel, Jesus and His followers get a variety of responses to their message and ministry. In Mark 6, rejection is a common theme. Some reject Jesus because they question His divine authority. Others reject His message because they don't care for its content. Others reject His values and those who hold them, because they take offense and seek to silence their conscience. The call for us is to receive, rather than reject, the King!
