Matthew 3:13-17 (NIV) Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and resting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Encouraging Voices

Proverbs 18:21 (NASB) Death and life are in the power of the tongue...

Challenging Voices

Critical Voices

Internal Voices

II Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

The voice in your head becomes the voice in your mouth. And the voice in your mouth becomes the voice in other people’s heads.

VOICES

I. IDENTIFY THE VOICE THAT IS HOLDING YOU DOWN.

Romans 12:2 (NIV) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

II. STAY TUNED TO THE RIGHT FREQUENCY.

John 10:27 (GNT) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

Psalm 1:1-2 (TLB) Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely.

III. USE MY VOICE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Ephesians 4:29 (NLT) Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
