Message Notes:
Summer at Bay Chapel | July 16, 2023

✓ Exhaustion - I'm too tired to fight.
✓ Doubt - Is God really here? Is He really listening to me?
✓ Control - If I can just figure this out, it’ll be fine.
✓ Escape - I just can’t do this anymore.

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭(NIV)‬‬  James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

What God is working out for your situation pales in comparison to what He’s working out inside your heart.

What to do when you want to give up?

 I. REMEMBER
1 Chronicles 16:12 -13 (ESV)  Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Israel his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

II. WAIT
Verb - to stay in one place and anticipate or expect something.
Psalm 130:5-6 (ESV)  I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.

III. RELY
Exodus 17:10-12 (ESV)  So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
