Genesis 1:26 - 2:17// The God who worked in creation and works for our salvation will not settle for a world where work is broken. While our work has been marred by sin and selfishness, the good news is that Jesus took our sin upon himself, including our sin in work, and he returns to us his righteousness. After his death and resurrection, Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father because his work is done, will return and make all things new - including work! In the new creation, we will work without distortions and chaos, because work, being a part of God’s creation before the fall and invested with the dignity that comes from us being image bearers, is a good thing. This vision of peace, where work is oriented to God and satisfying for people, where our labor is given to us to enjoy and return to the Lord without it being stolen, eroded, or fruitless, is coming!
