Our sin promises to give us life and joy, but it robs us of these blessings and replaces them with groaning and decay. Instead of ruining our fun, confession and repentance frees us to thrive and flourish in the shelter of God's forgiving love. As David says, the blessed are not those with possessions, prestige, or protection; instead, "“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity"!
