Whole-Hearted |Amy M. Le
Amy is a Vietnam War survivor and CHD warrior. She was born in Vietnam with an atrial septal defect nine months before the fall of Saigon with no access to medical care. She immigrated to the United States in 1980 at the age of five with her mother and cousin. Her family was among the hundreds of thousands of boat people who fled Vietnam after the Vietnam War. Amy was able to reconnect with her roots 40 years later, through an amazing encounter that led her to the heart surgeon who saved her life along with his wife, the medical illustrator assigned to her surgical case.
Amy M. Le is a Vietnam War survivor and Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) warrior. She is the award-winning author of the Snow trilogy and is currently working on her phoenix series — three books showcasing the resilience of people who’ve survived deep trauma. Amy is the founder of Quill Hawk Publishing, a woman-owned, Asian American company that helps writers indie publish their books while amplifying diverse voices through storytelling. She co-founded The Heart Community Collection, a resource for the CHD community, and sits on the board of the Vietnamese Boat People Podcast. Amy also serves as an officer for two writing organizations in Oklahoma.
