Description

Of all the things God calls us to do in life, none is important, or more difficult, than the call to wait. Maybe the hardest waiting is waiting upon God, particularly when you have taken one of God’s promises to heart. In today’s message, Pastor Wallace instructs in ways to survive the wait by providing insights from the life of David. God promised great things to David, and everything was falling into place for David to become the next king of Israel. That is, everything was falling into place until it fell through the bottom.

All of a sudden, David found himself on the run from Saul, waiting for God to deliver His promises. But David wasn’t just wasting time. No, his waiting became the means by which God molded the soul of Israel’s next king. That is what your waiting is all about as well. While you wait, you are making the most important choices of your life. After fleeing Saul, we find David enters two different types of sanctuaries. Pastor Wallace invites you to examine these places of refuge as a means by which you can find rest from your problems and for your soul.

1 Samuel 22:1-5 (NRSV)
