Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews!!! This week we are continuing our theme of Backwoods Horror with the extremely isolating film Wolf Creek (2005).
This film is based on the Backpack Murders of serial killer Ivan Milat, and while that might seem a bit sensationalist, they change up enough stuff for it to not be an exact reinactment of his crimes, and in a weird way the film feels like a PSA for just how dangerous the Outback of Australia can be if you go out too far into the Bush without a guide. I gave this film a 6.5/10 for being entertaining and having some unique character arcs that don't go the way of your average horror film. I also loved their killer, Mick Taylor, who feels like a bloke you could grab a beer with, until he pins you to a crucific in his torture cave.
