It's a cold, rainy day. It's a perfect day for a walk! Diana invites Latonya to go for a walk today. They want to stay warm and dry on their walk. Latonya and Diana discuss what they will wear - what they will put on. They decide they will wear layers - maybe two shirts and a vest (a jacket or sweater without sleeves). Latonya likes to wear a warm pair of pants made of thick, warm fabric when it's cold outside.
Both Latonya and Diana like jackets with hoods so they can cover up their heads when it's rainy or cold (or maybe if their hair is messy ( -; ). They don't want their hands and fingers to get cold, so they put on gloves or mittens (gloves without fingers). Because it's wet today, they are both putting on their boots to keep their feet dry. It's fun to splash in the puddles (small pools of water - like rainwater - on the ground) with boots on especially if the boots are waterproof. (Water is repelled and does not go through the boots.)
When it's cold and windy, Diana likes to wear a scarf around her neck. Latonya says that she crochets scarves (1 scarf, 2 scarves) and hats! She probably has lots of warm, beautiful scarves and hats.
They decide that they don't need sunglasses today.
Diana and Latonya are all dressed and ready for their walk. They open the door and go outside. It's cold! It's rainy! It's windy!The wind is blowing the rain in their faces. Are they comfortable? Yes, they are! They are cozy ! They're warm as toast!
It's true! There is no bad weather if you are wearing the right clothes!
