In this episode of The Corey Podcast, I’m inviting you into a conversation we don’t have often enough, the grief for the childhood you didn’t get and the life you thought you’d have by now. The kind of grief that doesn’t come from one big moment, but from quiet realizations that show up later and linger longer than expected.
We talk about how this grief sneaks into our relationships, our confidence, and the way we see ourselves, and why it deserves just as much care and attention as any other loss. You don’t need a dramatic backstory for your feelings to be real. You can be deeply grateful for where you are and still mourn what never happened, both can exist at the same time.
I share thoughts on recognizing this kind of grief, sitting with it instead of rushing past it, and giving yourself patience while you sort through it all. There’s no timeline here, just honesty and compassion for yourself.
I’m also sharing a very personal moment by playing “Bring Him Home” from Moments, my rendition of the song from Les Misérables. If you’d like to listen or download it, you can find it here:
