You are what you don't let go of. The need to be liked. The belief that something bad is about to happen. The expectation for everything to be perfect and ideal. The determination for being right. The anger of being hurt by someone else.
These are just a few of the things that will kill you if you let them.
Or at least they will kill the best version of you. The real you.
The you that God has created and wants for your life.
Or you can let them go. You can trust that good things are about to happen if you don't get in the way, you can trust that when they don't happen, you will learn, communicate, and get better.
You can trust that short of someone dying, what you're worried about probably isn't going to matter in a month from now.
You can believe and choose a better life. One filled with peace, one filled with confidence, one filled with wisdom and discernment,
one filled with acceptance that doesn't depend on being perfect.
One that will get you to the life you actually want.
But you are for sure going to have to let it go my friend.
Confession. This is a letter I wrote to myself this week. It's so silly because I know all this stuff. And you do too. But it happens so fast that we forget.
The best news of all is that it is our choice to remember, reset, and readjust.
That's what I'm trying to do.
How about you?
Cheers,
BW
