2013 marked the third year of El Buen Fin, Mexico’s answer to Black Friday in the US. The event takes place over the long weekend leading up to Revolution Day which was November 15-18 in 2013. El Buen Fin started in 2011 as a joint initiative between the Mexican government and ANTAD, the country’s major retailing association. Final figures are not yet available but estimates indicate that sales for 2013 are 10 percent higher than 2012.
