In this episode we use the guitar to study, in all keys, Major 7th chords, minor 7th chords, Dominant 7th chords, and m7b5 chords.  The chords are randomized and you're encouraged to identify the chord qualities, sing the arpeggios, and hear the color of each chord tone and it's place within the harmony.  The guitar chords are 6th-String Chord Voicings; Root, 7th, 3rd, 5th.

Exercise 1:  Identify the Chord Quality (Maj7, min7, Dom7, m7b5)

Exercise 2:  Arpeggiate the Chords (2 Octaves)

• Root - 3rd - 5th - 7th
• Now you sing the arpeggios while I play the chords
• Try this exercise double speed!

Exercise 3:  Sing the Chord Voicing

• Root - 7th - 3rd - 5th
• Now you sing the voicing while I play the chords

Exercise 4:  Chord Tone Color

• I will quiz your ability to hear the color of each chord tone within the chord by asking you to sing a particular chord tone.
• Try to imagine and hear the given chord tone in your mind and then sing that pitch.
