Description

In this episode, I sit down with Jed Stephensen, a passionate dog sled racer who recently completed the grueling 1000-mile Iditarod race. After years of dreaming of participating in this iconic race, Jed finally achieved his goal in 2023. However, his journey was far from easy.

Jed opens up about the challenges he faced during the race, from managing his own mind and emotions in the face of brutal winds and freezing temperatures to dealing with issues with his lead dogs. He shares his strategies to stay focused and motivated even when the odds seem stacked against him.

Throughout the episode, Jed also discusses his dogs' role and how he balances their well-being throughout the race. He talks about the physical and mental preparation required for the Iditarod and the lessons he learned along the way.
