The IDAA, or Indigenous Dental Association of Australia, was established in 2004 with the objective of enhancing the oral health of Indigenous Australians. Recently, the association has undergone a relaunch with a new board of directors focused on expanding its reach and advocating for the current needs of the Indigenous community. In a discussion with Cathryn Forsyth from ADA NSW and Dr Jodi Hart, director of IDAA, two newly appointed directors - Sophie L'Estrange, and Latisha Sykora - share their journey as Indigenous Australians and the obstacles they faced while pursuing their careers as dental professionals.
