Before the 1st round preview we share our thoughts on the four initial play-in games that took place (1:56). Kings/Warriors (3:00), Lakers/Pelicans (6:02), 76ers/ Heat (8:48) and Bulls/Hawks (12:38). We then take a moment to review our predictions (14:35) and name which teams we believe will take the 8th seed in each conference.

In the most exciting playoff matchup of the first round we discuss the swing factors for the clippers being the stars whilst this is reversed for the mavericks in the role players. Coaching adjustments that could be made with specific matchups in a preview of basketball excellence. Each co-host sides with the Clippers in 6/7 games which goes against the media.

Both co-hosts side with the Suns in this scenario due to their offensive style of mid-range mastery against the drop coverage T-wolves. We discuss how KAT/Gobert might be played off the floor with the shooting and star power of the Phoenix roster as well as their motivation to win a championship with this group. We rank our top 3 players in the series with difficulty.

We know this series is gonna be a grit n grind with two defensively oriented small market teams going at it in the 4 / 5 matchup of the East. We discuss the difference in pressures between Orlando with zero expectations and Clevland with the countdown clicking. Donovan Mitchell is expected to show out but with his contract situation it is a must win series for the franchise and we look forward to the guard matchup with Jalen Suggs. Both Yonny and Matt elect for the cavaliers in 5 but only time and Paolo Banchero can tell!

Milwaukee Bucks (3) vs (6) Indiana Pacers - 47:43
This was definitely the hardest series to preview for our international co-hosts with the Giannis injury timeline a big factor in discussions. We’ve seen these teams go at it in the in-season tournament and various game ball incidents so there is smoke to be smoked. Will the bucks come away strong against the quick and hungry pacers or will Tyrese and Pascal be too much spice to handle. Yonny changes Matt’s mind to elect for Pacers in 7 in this series but remains reliant on Dame having a strong series with role players stepping up to fill the platter.
