Hello Inky Thinkers and welcome to the eleventh episode of the podcast.
It is time for episode 2 of the sub-series, "Beyond the Gate", this series is all about giving some much-needed attention, to marginalized groups and people, within the tattoo world.
This time, I am once again looking at being black in the tattoo industry, but with the addition of also being queer (more specifically a gay man).
I am of course not doing this on my own, and I have the fortune to be joined by the awesome Oba Jackson, a man who is fiercely proud of both his black and queer/gay identity and culture, as well as his incredible work as an artist and tattoo artist. Together Oba and I dive into some of the stigma and gatekeeping one can still face in the industry, when either being a POC or Queer, or indeed both.
We also discuss some of the positive changes that are occurring currently, as well as what Oba does to pay it forward and make a positive change through his own studio Push Tattoos, and much more.
There is love, laughter, deep discussion, and something to learn!
Please enjoy and share with your friends, family, pets, and anyone else into tattoos!
Guest: Oba Jackson

Oba also has amazing art classes and get togethers coming up, follow him for more details!
Do go give Oba a follow and check out his other projects, show him and this podcast some support.
Thank you all
