The stories of our grandmothers shape our concept of what we are "allowed" to do, and what we believe is possible in our lives. Some of us inherit a lineage of fear and self-denial when it comes to following our callings. Others are inspired to do what their grandmothers were never able to do.
In this episode, inspired by an email from a listener, Ariel examines the story of her own matrilineage, while looping in the stories of several other community members' mothers and grandmothers. By holding these stories up to the "regrets of the dying" we can see the imperative of acknowledging, and pursuing, what we truly value in our lives.
