- As important as the destination is, never forget…
- Sometimes the journey is just as important!
- Our passage today is the center of a theological debate that has been raging in the Church for 2000 years:
- Is it possible for a person to lose their salvation?!
- John 10:27-28
- “My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. And no one shall snatch them from my hand.”
- On the surface this passage seems to end any debate as to whether someone can lose their salvation.
- It’s a resounding NO!!!! Or is it???
- Hebrews 6:4-6
- It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened. Who have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit. And have tasted of the Word of God and the power of the coming age. And then, having fallen away for them to be restored again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding Him in contempt.
- On the surface, this passage seems to be in contradiction to the passage above. But is it?
- Remember:
- God does NOT contradict Himself. If two passages seem to be in contradiction, the problem is not God. It’s us.
- We must always approach the scripture with humility…
- There are many scriptures that you will wrestle with, study, and pray over, and still not come to a definitive conclusion. But always remember:
- Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.
- Especially if you are journeying with Jesus!
