This week's Announcements:

As we hear how Jesus engaged with acts of Service, we want to give you the opportunity to serve as well. Here are four “hot spots” or opportunities that need your help in the next few months. For more details, visit the website ljpres.events/serve.

The Harvest Festival is November 4th. It’s one of our biggest community outreaches of the year, and there are fun service opportunities with setting up, running events, cleaning up, and more.

October 28th, we are serving at UrbanLife Farms. We will be planting, harvesting, weeding, putting down mulch and preparing beds. If you have any little ones, we have a special project for them in our Children’s Garden!

There are ongoing Youth and Children’s Ministry service opportunities. Sunday mornings or Wednesday nights, there are lots of great ways to serve our kids: There are places for greeters, helpers, teachers, and more.

The fourth serve opportunity is sharing the Christmas Spirit. As Christmas approaches, there are joyous ways to serve the community and invite them in. Help with the Christmas Parade, Church Christmas decorating and the MOM Toy drive.

You can find contact information and how to get plugged in to these serving opportunities at ljpres.events/serve.

The C. S. Lewis lecture series is returning October 29th through 31st, in Fellowship Hall. Guest Lecturer, Rev. Steve Beard, Senior pastor at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale in Arizona and son of Rev. Stan Beard, will cover CS Lewis Master Story Teller, The Devil’s Favorite Tricks, and Pain & Suffering. The lectures will be Monday and Tuesdat evening, and Wednesday for lunch. Contact Alyssa at alyssat@ljpres.org for more information.

The 5th annual Harvest Festival is coming up Sunday, Nov. 4th from 11am to 2pm. There will be pony rides, a rock climbing wall, petting zoo, face painting, bubble soccer and food trucks. It’s fun for all ages! $10 unlimited activity wristbands are available now at ljpres.events/harvest. For more information or to serve at the event, please contact Erika Hill at erikah@ljpres.org.
