In 2017 we are going to be focusing on three big stories. God's story of love and redemption, Your story, and getting to know and hear from you, and seeing how those overlap to create Our story. The first step of this process is called Begin. We are hosting a special Begin event on January 28th, and would like to invite you to come and hear about this exciting journey. Please mark your calendars and set aside the morning of January 28th to come and Begin.
La Jolla Pres is hosting a Father Daughter Dance on Saturday, February 4th, from 6 to 8:30pm. This is a special event for dads (or grandpas/uncles/guests) & daughters. The evening includes corsages and boutonnières, DJ Dance party, commemorative photo, craft and dessert bar. Please RSVP to Erika Hill at erikah@ljpres.org.
Rev. Scott Mitchell is starting a new session of the GriefShare Class. It will run Thursdays, from 3:30 to 5:00pm, from January 19th to April 20th in room LC-5. Our continuing series onScience & Theology for Emerging Adult Ministries or "STEAM" is hosting another discussion on February 2nd for College and Post-Graduate Students. Please join us on February 2nd as Guest Speaker Doug Given, a Geophysicist and the National Earthquake Early Warning Coordinator for the US Geological Survey, U.S. Dept. of the Interior and Caltech Seismological Laboratory, talks about Science & Faith. Free dinner at 7:00pm in LC-1 (for those under 30), The lecture and discussion is at 7:45pm in Fellowship Hall and open to everyone.
