Good morning, and happy Sunday! Welcome to our January 26th, 2020 service from La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Dr. Paul Cunningham preaching this week and it’s the third week of the new winter sermon series titled “Gospel Glimpses, a look at Typology - people, events or places in the Old Testament that offer us a “type” or “pattern” of the Messiah who is to come. This morning we are talking about Jacob’s dream in Bethel where he sees a stairway with angels ascending and descending from heaven. The sermon is titled, “No Ordinary Place” it’s a look at Genesis chapter 28, verses 10-22. If you would like to connect with our church, you can find our website at ljpres.org. The women’s retreat is coming up March 6th through the 8th, at the Cape Rey Resort & Spa in Carlsbad. Our speaker for “Seen & Set Free” is Katie Quesada, preacher, speaker, and storyteller, who will lead us on a path to freedom in Christ. We are offering a DivorceCare class led by India Kern, a Certified Divorce Coach on Wednesdays, from Feb. 5th through May 6th, 6:30-8pm, in room LC1. DivorceCare is a support group designed to offer the help and guidance one needs while going through the transition of divorce or separation. Cost is $20 per person.
