Good morning, and happy Sunday! Welcome to our February 23rd, 2020 service from La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Dr. Paul Cunningham preaching this week and it’s the final week of the winter sermon series titled “Gospel Glimpses, a look at Typology - people, events or places in the Old Testament that offer us a “type” or “pattern” of the Messiah who is to come. This morning we are looking at the story of Ruth, an amazing type of God’ faithfulness and steadfastness. The sermon is titled, “Redemption” it’s a look at selections from the first two chapters of Ruth. If you would like to connect with our church, you can find our website at ljpres.org. This morning our youth hosted the annual Mexico fund-raiser breakfast. We enjoyed some delicious breakfast tacos and pancakes, heard about and helped support the life transforming trip that is such a blessing for our students. The next installment of our Concert Series is this afternoon, February 23rd, at 4pm, in the Sanctuary. The concert will feature two incredible musicians, Pianist Bryan Verhoye and Violinist Annelle Gregory. It’s a great opportunity to bring your friends!
The San Diego Blood Bank will be here on campus next Sunday all morning to take blood donations. One donation can save three live. Please eat a healthy breakfast and come save a life.
Finally, Interfaith shelter is coming up March 7th-21st. We are hosting several individuals and families on a path to escape homelessness. We need help with set-up, tear down, and overnight hosts.
