This Week's Announcements:
The Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Choir of San Diego is presenting a free concert at La Jolla Pres on Sunday, March 19th at 4:00pm. The choir is a volunteer organization of singers from San Diego County and Temecula. Their repertoire is drawn from gospel music, spirituals, anthems, and some classical works. They have performed throughout California and Europe educating audiences on the history and impact of spirituals and gospel music. Proceeds from their concerts and CD sales fund scholarships for qualifying High School Seniors who are pursuing higher education in the visual and performing arts! It's a concert you won't want to miss. March 19th at 4:00pm.
Interfaith Shelter is going on now through March 25th. Please pray for our guests as they work to overcome homlessness. There are just a couple of spot available for overnight guests, if you would like to help out you can call Jon Mangerich, his phone number is 858-483-9654 or you can email him at jonm360@gmail.com.
Another great mission service opportunity is the Urban Life Farms family workday. Join us Saturday morning, April 8, from 9:00am to 12:30pm for a family friendly Mission opportunity at UrbanLife Farms, located at Southeast Presbyterian Church. Are you looking for a Growth Group? There's a new drop-in Growth Group during our Lenten series that will go for 7 weeks. If Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm works for you please email Brooke at brookep@ljpres.org. All are welcome!
We have a need for housing for our Summer staff. This summer we have three wonderful students from Whitworth University who will participate in youth and children’s ministry here at the church. We have 2 males and 1 female that will be needing housing from June-Aug. If you have a spare room, guest house or some other option that could work for housing these great students we would like to hear from you. The Married Couples Retreat is coming up April 28th to 30th, and will be held at the Lakehouse Resort in San Marcos! Sign up this Sunday in the Courtyard. Guest speakers will be Casey and Meygan Caston founders of Marriage 365 Ministries. The cost is $460, and covers 2 nights of lodging, Friday dinner and Sunday brunch.
