This week's announcements:
We want to keep you informed about our budget. La Jolla Pres operates on a fiscal budget that runs from July 1-June 30. We are now ¾ of the way through our fiscal operating budget.
Our year to date budgeted income is $1,952,000
And our year to date Actual Income is $1,867,000
Representing shortfall of $85,000
Although expenses are down, our actual income is also running behind. We are hopeful we can close this gap by the end of June.
We are hosting another wonderful Urban Life Farms workday, Saturday, May 18th, from 9am to 1pm, at the Orange Avenue Church, located at 5202 Orange Avenue. We will plant, harvest, weed, mulch and prepare beds. We have a special project for little ones in our Children’ Garden! You can get more info at ljpres.events/farm.
Good Company is going out for dinner and an evening of improv comedy. Saturday, May 18th, 5pm dinner, and 7:30pm at the National Comedy Theatre. Good Company is a fun fellowship group for people 50 and over. Tickets are $14 and will be available in the courtyard or you can email GraceDecker at graceldecker@gmail.com.
The blood drive is Sunday, May 19th, from 8am to 1pm, in room LC3. Give the “Gift of Life” by donating blood. Please make an appointment at ljpres.org/blooddrive.
