As we move into the final month of our fiscal budget 2016/17 we wanted to give you an update on where the church stands financially. Expenses continue to be less than anticipated, but unfortunately our income is also running behind.
Our budgeted Income Year to Date is $2,140,000
And our actual Income Year to Date is $2,089,000
That’s a shortfall of $51,000
In order to meet our financial goal for the 2017/18 fiscal year, we will need to receive $242,000 in the month of June. The Elders are grateful for your continued generosity and are hopeful that we will be able to achieve our financial goal.
Women of all ages are invited to a special women’s ministries speaker event: A Tea Time Talk with Susan Hoehn on June 8th from 7:00- 8:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. Join us for dessert and tea, and hear from local philanthropist and Community Bible Study teacher Susan Hoehn, as she shares her inspiring story of faith. $10 per person or tables of 8 available for $80. We will be hosting an all Church Dinner & Movie Friday, June 16th. There will be a Pizza Dinner in Courtyard from 5:00-6:30pm, followed by the family friendly Disney film, Moana. Celebrate the first Friday out of school with dinner & a movie at LJPC! Bring your own blankets & lawn chairs to set up in Fellowship Hall. Kids are $5, adults are 10, and that includes both pizza and the movie. All ages are welcome! Pre-purchase your tickets from Erika Hill, at erikah@ljpres.org
For over 100 years a big part of our story at La Jolla Presbyterian Church is Celebrating... and on Sunday, June 18th at 3:00pm that’s just what we’ll be doing with our 2017 Greatest Hits Concert! Our music ensembles work hard to prepare a piece of music and then often have only one opportunity to present it during the church year. Our Chancel Choir, LJ Brass, LJPC Orchestra, and Handbell Choir will select their favorite pieces. The result will be our “3rd Annual Greatest Hits Concert.” Please join us on June 18, at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary!
