This week's announcements:
Good morning and happy Sunday! Welcome to our July 28th, 2019 service from La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
Today Rev. Dr. Paul Cunningham is preaching, it’s the second week of the sermon series called Storyteller, a look at eight parables told by Jesus. Today we’re looking at the parable of the mustard seed, as told in Luke chapter 13, verses 18- 21. If you would like to connect with our church, you can find our website at LJPres.org. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.
We’re organizing a community work day on Saturday, Aug. 3rd at Bird Rock Elementary. Join us for an opportunity to serve and help our local community as we landscape & paint campus areas that need it most. Sign-up at ljpres.events/summerworkdays.
We’re starting to take sign-ups for the Gleanings Mission Trip to Sultana, California October 6th through 11th. The trip helps pack dried food which is shipped all over the US and the world to feed hungry people. You can save your spot with a $10 deposit. Contact Michelle Whitney at michellew@ljpres.org for more information.
We’re gearing up for this fall’s men’s retreat, which will be held September 6th through the 8th, at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Our Speaker is Brian Holland from Purpose Church and the theme is “Setting our minds on the things above, not on the things on earth”. Register at ljpres.events/men2019.
