In 1999 the mountain bike clothing brand Qranc sponsored a downhill rider from Australia to come to the United States and race in the junior category. Johnny Waddell kicked butt in juniors and told team managers Dave and Mark Rogers that he knew a bunch of other guys in Australia, who were even faster than him. What happened in 1999 was nothing short of amazing.
