Meet Cecilia Mannella, a therapist and social worker in private practice in British Columbia, Canada. In today's episode, Cecilia and I talk about grief and trauma; how they show up in the body, how we manage it, what it feels like to be in grief and how to deal with other people's expectations. We also discuss the gifts of grief. Who knew grief brought gifts? I invited Cecilia onto the show because sadly she lost her husband, Tony, when she was only in her 30s.
Even if you haven't had a loss, this is a really great interview to listen to because you get to learn how to hold space for those who have had loss.
Cecilia has dedicated her career to helping people heal trauma and live a life of connection. She recently started a podcast, Mental Makeover Radio, where she answers listeners questions, everything from love and grief to family, conflict and parenting, and shares her therapist insights. Visit her on Instagram where you can ask her questions, engage in her content as well as submit your own question for her podcast. You can also find Cecilia and Mental Makeover Radio on YouTube.
