Description

The mind becomes what it thinks. When we think of lower things, our thoughts, words, and actions reflect that low state. But when we focus on higher truths, we develop noble thoughts, speech, and actions. Good actions lead to good results, and low actions lead to poor outcomes. So, when the body acts with goodness, the soul receives good results.
At the moment of death, if the soul is at peace, it experiences calm and bliss. If not, it suffers deeply before leaving the body. The soul remembers its death experiences and carries that fear into its next birth. That’s why all living beings naturally fear death.
To overcome this fear, one must think of the higher truth and recognize the soul within. This inner light, called Atma or Brahman, is the life-force in all beings. When one contemplates this truth deeply, the soul becomes one with it and realizes its divine nature.
Once this realization dawns, a person no longer identifies with just the body or mind but lives from the awareness of being the radiant Atma. From this state, noble thoughts, words, and actions flow naturally. To reach this higher state, one must live a life of goodness—thinking, speaking, and doing only what is right.
It Is the soul that truly lives this life. It takes a body to fulfill its inner longing. But after birth, the soul forgets its purpose and gets caught in the pull of the senses and worldly bonds. This leads to repeated births, seeking sensory pleasures.
When the soul remembers its true purpose — to realize its divine self — and lives rightly while in the body, it undergoes life’s experiences with wisdom and attains liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
A higher life Is not one lived only for the body, but one lived for the soul. Understanding and living for the soul, in righteousness, is the true way. One should live for what is truly good for oneself and one’s family.
Thus, life itself becomes a path of virtue. While in the body, one should do all the good one can, with kindness and grace. To be reborn nobly, one must give through charity. To reach the state beyond birth, one must live by *Dharma*, which is *Aram* — righteousness.
When we protect *Aram*, it protects us. Living a righteous life is the highest form of living. Among all forms, the household life (*Illaram*) lived with virtue is considered the greatest *Aram*.
Therefore, householders must never turn away from righteousness. By living with love and virtue, even death becomes peaceful and liberating. Such a soul returns to the supreme light from which it came and attains the eternal, deathless state.
