Description

In the 11th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan asks, Oh Soul! Will You Sleep from Womb to Tomb, or Awaken from Womb to Wisdom?

What blessing do you truly seek, one for this world or one for the beyond? You can gain what is needed for both, yet this worldly life is not permanent. Even though you know it will not last, why cling to it? Houses do not last. The body, which is also a kind of house, does not last. Beyond all these stands a lasting state called liberation. In human life, after experiencing virtue, wealth, and pleasure, the final goal is this liberation.
How can you reach it? You have already tasted it once during Velvi. Just as a woman becomes a mother the moment life forms within her womb, a seeker also undergoes an inner birth. Kundalini Shakthi rises from Muladhara, crosses many stages and centers, and reaches the Crown, the thousand petaled lotus. There it turns into pure awareness and feels supreme bliss. Through that bliss, the soul attains the divine state.
When a yogi practices sincerely, he gains this divine realization. That realization grants liberation, a state beyond birth and death. The soul that once moved endlessly in the wheel of time goes beyond time, place, and circumstance. But if it stays attached to the body and worldly things, it remains bound and is born again and again. It moves between womb and tomb in the cycle of life. To be free, it must rise beyond these pulls and unite with the cosmic source. Only then does it reach the highest state.
