Gurumahan in the 9th Velvi, reminds us that Divine spark is within everyone, can transform the mind of even the cruelest person, cites the transformation of Valmiki!
Within you lies a true essence. There is a deeper awareness (MeiUnarvu). There is the power of the Atma. You share a direct connection with the universe. Establishing that connection is Yoga. Yoga means reuniting yourself with the Source. It means returning to your natural state of pure awareness.
In that state, who are you? Are you a man? A woman? No. You are neither male nor female. You are beyond all identities and beyond decay. It is a state of pure movement, a state of boundless love. If all of us reach that state of love, how would we live?
I would not be the only one speaking here. Who are you? You are Divine. When we live in that awareness (MeiUnarvu), how do we treat one another? With joy. With harmony.
This state of love gives us the maturity to remain balanced in every situation, in pleasure and in pain. It brings true awareness. Our scriptures remind us that even the cruelest person carries this divine spark within. Consider Valmiki. He once robbed and killed without hesitation. Yet a higher awareness transformed him completely. If that awakening could change a murderer, it exists within everyone.
No one is born a criminal or a thief. Circumstances shape us. Situations influence us. The mind shifts. That is why we need a method to refine and elevate the mind. Arutthandhai Vedathiri Maharishi gave this path a beautiful name — Manavalakkalai, the art of cultivating the mind. It is truly a profound name.
If every person born on this sacred soil awakens to this Divine awareness (MeiUnarvu) and lives as a yogi filled with love, what kind of world would we create? What would Tamil Nadu become? Pause and reflect.
If we unite in this Divine awareness and sincerely wish for our nation to flourish, if we truly envision India standing at the forefront of the world, it will happen. It will surely happen.
Let us first realize the Divine within us, the love within us steady, unchanging, eternal. When that love fills our hearts, what will we sow into this world? Only love.
