This week on Beyond Stillness: Stories After Stroke we welcome author, speaker, holistic health practitioner, minister, and Emmy Award winning musician Toni Hickman who lives in Houston, Texas. In October of 2004, just before an album release, Toni suffered her first of two brain aneurysms that were followed by a stroke. At that point she wasn’t able to find any publicly disabled people in the music industry. While pondering the reason she was still alive, Toni found purpose. Her story is entitled, “A Story of Resilience.”
