(Psalms 62:11-12 CSB) God has spoken once; I have heard this twice: strength belongs to God,
12 and faithful love belongs to you, Lord. For you repay each according to his works.
1. It is necessary for us to know him as both because we will eventually need him as both.
(Exodus 3:14) God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
(Lam. 3:21-23) Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
2. We have culturally bastardized the greatness and goodness of God.
3. What his goodness enabled his greatness ensures.
(Romans 5:6-8) You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
