From a young age, participation in organized sports has been integral to my development as not only a person, but also health care provider.  In 1995, I graduated from the University of Waterloo’s Bachelor of Science in Honours Kinesiology where I developed a solid foundation in anatomy, physiology and human movement.  It was also here that I developed the bug for continuous learning and soon after, completed the 4 year Master of Science program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University in Southern California in 2000.

I am a Registered TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist in Ontario with CTCMPAO and play a very active role in the profession. From 2013 to 2018 I was a professional member of council with CTCMPAO, where I was elected Vice President for 2016-2017. I am also a board certified Diplomat in Acupuncture in the US by NCCAOM.

I am passionate about learning.  So much so that I have been faculty since 2016 at Georgian College in the TCM Acupuncture diploma program and TCMP post graduate certificate program. In the past, I have moderated on-line continuing education seminars for Healthy Seminars and volunteered to support the Integrative Fertility Symposium that was held annually in Vancouver pre-pandemic.  I share my passion for this medicine with not only students and patients but all Canadians as a regular contributor for Medicinal Roots Magazine, a ground-breaking Canadian publication devoted to TCM.

In my spare time, I enjoy an active lifestyle and depending on the season you can find me hiking, mountain biking, weight training, yoga, downhill skiing, gardening and most recently, working with my handsome Dalmatian Roscoe and newest edition, Waffle who is a golden retriever pup.  I look forward to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals and can be found a Lang Wellness Centre in Barrie, ON.
