Mark reminds us that angels are both with us and in the presence of God, ‘They’re here and they’re there at the same time.’ Seeing an image carved on a tomb years ago taught Anne to think of angels, not ‘like a fairy with pretty wings,’ but as ‘fierce’ and ‘protective.’
