This week on Adventures of Des and Cort, Des’s Hot Flash is aimed directly at grudge holders 🔥
Seriously… how are people staying mad for YEARS over something so silly? We might be too forgiving but at some point you have got to move on. Some people are out here carrying emotional baggage like it’s a competitive sport. Girl… you are giving entirely too many f’s.
Then we spiral into panic over needing dresses for a Kentucky Derby party. Hats? Fascinators? Loud prints? Structured dresses? We are simple girlies and this feels dangerously close to costume territory 👒😅 If you have ideas, please help because confidence levels are low.
Cort also calls Des out for having bougie dogs and honestly… the evidence is strong. Willie gets scared if the windows are open too long. Addie refuses to pee on wet grass like she pays the mortgage. The list of quirks keeps growing and suddenly Des realizes she may have accidentally raised entitled animal celebrities.
We also dive into chapters 10, 11 and 12 of The Women and whew… things are getting emotional. Frankie losing Jamie, Ethel leaving, and her transfer to the 71st really show how isolated and intense that world was compared to life back home. You can actually feel Frankie changing and growing through the letters she writes to her parents. It is heartbreaking, eye opening and making us love this book even more 📚💔
Of course there are side tangents, random opinions and the usual yapping that somehow takes us everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
