Description

What do we do when life takes a bad turn? Whether it’s unexpected or the result of choices—ours or others’—we often retreat into the wilderness, seeking to escape the pain. But in the wilderness, we’re confronted with harsh realities that can leave us feeling gutted, as if the air has been knocked out of us.

Yet, even here, there may be a whisper of hope: "It will get better..." Still, we face a choice—will we trust God or doubt Him in this wilderness?

Are you or someone you know in a wilderness season? Is there suffering, anger, or frustration? How might the Holy Spirit guide our hearts today? Remember, there’s strength to be found in the wilderness.

Discussion Questions:

1. What is or was a wilderness season for you?

2. How do you view God when you’re suffering?

3. Consider one of God’s names, "El Roi," meaning "the God who sees me." Do you believe that God sees you in your wilderness? Why or why not?

4. What is a Bible verse that encourages you in wilderness seasons? If you don’t have one, look up John 16:33!
