1. HE REDEEMS – Psalm 107:2
“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so.”
God buys back those who were enslaved by sin, habits, poor choices, and the enemy.
Illustration:
A man pawned his watch during hard times and later went back to the pawn shop.
He bought the same watch back—but at a higher price.
When asked why, he said, “Because it belonged to me.”
That’s redemption.
You belonged to God before sin claimed you, so He bought you back—at a high price—the blood of Jesus.
2. HE GATHERS – Psalm 107:3
God gathers people from the east, west, north, and south—
Meaning: No matter where life scattered you, God gathers you back.
Short Story:
A mother at a mall lost sight of her 4-year-old son.
She panicked. She searched everywhere.
When she found him, she hugged him so tight he could hardly breathe.
She didn’t scold him—she gathered him.
That’s how God treats His lost children.
3. HE DELIVERS – Psalm 107:6
“Then they cried unto the LORD… and He delivered them from their distresses.”
God does not abandon people in trouble—He comes into the trouble and pulls them out
4. HE LEADS – Psalm 107:7
“He led them forth by the right way.”
God doesn’t just bring you out;
He shows you where to go next.
5. HE SATISFIES – Psalm 107:9
“For He satisfieth the longing soul.”
People try everything—relationships, money, success, substances—but only God satisfies the soul.
6. HE SAVES – Psalm 107:13
“Then they cried… and He saved them out of their distresses.”
God saves the believer and the unbeliever who cries out.
Salvation is available to all.
7. HE HEALS – Psalm 107:20
“He sent His word, and healed them.”
God doesn’t always use medicine, doctors, oil, or laying on of hands.
Sometimes He just sends His Word—and healing comes.
8. HE MULTIPLIES – Psalm 107:38
“He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly.”
This shows the gratefulness of God:
When God restores, He doesn’t bring you back to where you were—
He brings you back better, fuller, and multiplied.
The Umbrella Story
A young girl walked outside on a cloudy day carrying her umbrella.
Others asked: “Why are you carrying that? It might not rain.”
She replied, “I’m expecting something.”
When you understand God’s goodness in Psalm 107,
you live every day expecting blessing, mercy, provision, guidance, healing, and deliverance.
That’s being grateful.
