Text the show

In today's episode, I’m diving into a topic that I’m sure many of you can relate to—the motion trap. You know that feeling when you’ve been busy all day, crossing off tasks left and right, but when you think back over your day, you realize you haven’t actually made any real progress? That’s the motion trap.

I break down the difference between staying busy with motion and making meaningful progress with action. Plus, I share personal stories and practical strategies to help you recognize when you’re stuck in motion and, more importantly, how to break free and start taking action that really moves the needle in your business.

Key Takeaways:

To help you put what you’ve learned into practice, I’m introducing a new segment called Thrive in 5. Here’s what you can do in just five minutes to start shifting from motion to action:

  1. Set a Clear Goal: Take a minute to identify one specific, clear goal you want to accomplish this week. Write it down and keep it front and center—on a sticky note on your computer, as your phone background, wherever you’ll see it often.
  2. Declutter Your To-Do List: Look at your current to-do list and ask yourself what’s really moving you toward that goal. Be ruthless—cross off anything that’s just busy work or can be postponed, and focus on the tasks that will truly make an impact.
  3. Take Imperfect Action: Set a timer for five minutes and focus on one task that will move you closer to your goal. Don’t worry about being perfect—just get started. Progress beats perfection every time.
