In this episode I’m joined by Seattle-based meteorologist Abby Acone to talk about her career, mental health, and journey as a queer woman in the public eye. Abby shares what it’s really like working in TV news and the pressures that come with such a high-profile career.
We also talk about her experience coming out later in life after previously being married to a man, and the internal struggles she faced growing up in a conservative environment. One of the most meaningful moments in her journey was when she publicly shared her relationship on live TV, an important step in living authentically and increasing queer representation.
Abby also opens up about living with OCD and why prioritizing mental health is so important. We wrap up by talking about her engagement to Ali and their hopes for the future, highlighting the power of visibility and embracing your true self.
