On July 27, 2026, John Kauterman found a sealed bottle from a nine-year-old girl who put it in the water on August 20, 1973 from Ocean City, NJ. As a joke she wrote, “This bottle was adrift on August 20, 1973 on 2nd Street beach Ocean City as my captors were transporting me to an island off shore in the Atlantic. Please notify my family that a band of ruthless sponge fisherman are forcing me to dive for them in shark infested waters! Please return this note to my home... You may have saved my life! Thank you. Laurie Blair.” Laurie died from cancer in 2017. Her family has framed the letter. God has written a love letter to us and He hopes each of us will find it.
