For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Tim Keller states,“Jesus didn’t just live a good life—He lived a perfect life. He is the only human being to ever live fully in alignment with God’s design. His sinlessness not only shows us what a perfect life looks like but also provides the very righteousness we need to stand before a holy God.” — The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism, by Timothy Keller, p. 231

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15) His sinlessness means that He is the only one who can bridge the gap between a holy God and sinful humanity. Jesus’s perfect life uniquely qualifies Him to be our advocate before God, offering us a confidence that, through Him, we are fully accepted.
