If gold was a gift of wealth for a king, then frankincense was used to worship the King as Frankincense was used for worship in the Temple. These wise men recognized the sinless deity of Jesus, deserving of their worship. “And when they came into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshiped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
