Since the beginning of time, humans have struggled to keep God in His rightful place as Lord of our lives. While not many of us worship a physical golden calf or graven image, we still fall victim to idolatry today. We can even be tempted to elevate God’s good gifts like family, talents, comfort, and success above our love for Him. Why does God hate idolatry? Because He loves us and knows that idolatry warps our view of Him, robs us of our destiny, steals our blessings and empowers the forces of darkness. God instructs us to have no other gods before Him for our own good. What things in your life have become idols? It is time for a deep clean.
